Born on 16th October 1997 In Japan, Naomi Osaka is of mixed race. Her mother, Tamako Osaka, is from Nemuro, Hokkaido, Japan, whereas Leonard Francois is from Jacmel, Haiti. Naomi has an older sister, Mari, who is also a former professional tennis player. Naomi’s parents choose to give their kids the mother’s surname because of practical reasons. When Naomi was three years old, her family moved from Japan to New York to live with her father. Naomi’s father was heavily inspired by Richard Williams, who trained his daughters to become the world’s most successful tennis players.
In 2006, Naomi’s family moved to Florida to get better training for tennis. Initially, Naomi and her sister used to practice in the Pembroke Pines Public court during the day.
