While we slept peacefully on 25th Jan none of us thought that on 26th morning we’ll be getting such awful news. On 26th Jan 2020 the world lost a phenomenal basketball legend, Kobe Bryant. 

Kobe Bryant 41 along with other passengers were flying to Thousand Oaks for a basketball game where Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter – Gianna was expected to play and Bryant was to give coaching. 

Initial information indicated the helicopter was flying under visual flight rules from Jhon Wayne airport in Orange County. By the time the helicopter reached Burbank, the pilot requested to fly under visual flight rules. 

During the pilot’s conversation with air traffic control, they advised the pilot there was a delay due to traffic. The helicopter circled for 12 minutes until air traffic control approved the special visual flight rules. 

The crash created a crater at 1,085 feet above sea level. Then we all know what happened after that. The world lost 9 people along with Kobe and his daughter who was supposed to be at Oak playing their basketball match.

Crazy isn’t it? Nobody (in the flight & rest of the world) thought that the world would lose such gems in a severe air crash.

A day before a young daughter and her father were excited about basketball match and within hours the match became a dark history.

In 2019 Kobe released 1st volume of children’s fantasy book series, “The Wizenards” published through his multimedia content company Granity Studios including his autobiography: The Mamba Mentality: How I Play in 2018. 

Kobe was working with Paulo Coelho on a new children’s book aimed at inspiring underprivileged children to overcome adversity through sports. Soon after Coelho heard of the tragic accident, he deleted the draft they were working on saying it didn’t make any sense to continue without him. 

Kobe was fluent in Italian and Spanish language. 

Kobe’s nickname is Bean – nicknamed after his dad’s nickname Jellybean which he earned during his time as a basketball player with Philadelphia 76ers.
