Joe was born to Catherine Eugenia Finnegan Biden and Joseph Robinette Biden, Sr.
He has a sister, Valerie, and two brothers, Francis and James, and is the oldest child in a Catholic family. Joseph Sr. had English, French, and Irish ancestry, while Catherine was of Irish descent.
Biden’s father used to be wealthy, but he ran into financial difficulties around the time Biden was born, and the family ended up living with Biden’s maternal grandparents for several years. During the 1950s, Scranton’s economy declined, and Biden’s father struggled to find steady work. Before moving to a house in Wilmington, the family lived in an apartment in Claymont, Delaware, beginning in 1953. Later in life, Biden Sr. became a successful used-car salesman, allowing the family to live comfortably in the middle class.
Joe Biden Career
Joe Biden earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 1965 and a law degree from Syracuse University in 1968. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and raised in New Castle County, Delaware.
Biden returned to Delaware after graduating from law school to work as an attorney before entering politics, serving on the New Castle County Council from 1970 to 1972. At the age of 29, he was elected to the United States Senate, making him the fifth-youngest senator in history.
In addition to his work as a senator, Biden worked as an adjunct professor at the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, from 1991 to 2008.
Biden’s focus as a senator was on foreign policy, criminal justice, and drug policy. He was a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chaired it twice (2001–03 and 2007–09), as well as the Senate Judiciary Committee from 1987 to 1995. He was particularly outspoken on issues related to the late-1990s Kosovo conflict, urging US action against Serbian forces to protect Kosovars from an offensive led by Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.
Biden proposed a partition plan as a way to keep Iraq united and peaceful during the 2003–11 war. Biden was also a member of the International Narcotics Control Caucus and the lead senator in drafting the law that created the position of “drug czar,” which oversees national drug policy.
Joe Biden – A Leader in the Senate
For more than three decades, Vice President Biden served as a senator from Delaware and was recognized for his leadership when it came to some of the nation’s most pressing domestic and international challenges. For 16 years, Biden served as the chairman or ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The landmark Violence Against Women Act, which increases penalties for violence against women and provides unprecedented resources for assault survivors, changed the national dialogue on domestic and sexual assault.
Joe Biden once said, “America is an idea. An idea that is stronger than any army, bigger than any ocean, and more powerful than any dictator or tyrant. It gives hope to the most desperate people on earth, guarantees that everyone is treated with dignity, and gives hate no safe harbor. It instills in every person in this country the belief that no matter where you start in life, there’s nothing you can’t achieve if you work at it. That’s what we believe.”

Biography of Joe Biden
Joe Biden – President of America
In the 2020 presidential election, Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris defeated incumbent president Donald Trump and vice president Mike Pence. A Delaware native, Biden is also the country’s oldest president and its second Catholic president behind John F. Kennedy. American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was the focus of his first acts as president, as was a series of executive orders. He also proposed, lobbied for, and signed into law a series of executive orders.
Biden was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021. To date, no one has been older than him. After John F. Kennedy, he is the second Catholic president. He is also the first president whose state of residence is in Delaware. Vice President Richard Nixon was elected president in 1968, making him the second non-incumbent vice president elected to the office of the presidency.
Since the January 6 insurrection, Biden’s inauguration was “a muted affair unlike any other”. But there were no spectators on the Mall, no parades, and no inaugural balls to celebrate Biden’s inauguration. This makes him the first outgoing president since 1869 to skip the inauguration of his successor.
In the past, Joe Biden has been viewed as a moderate Democrat and a centrist. Americans for Democratic Action gave him a 72 percent lifetime liberal rating through 2004, while the American Conservative Union gave him a 13 percent lifetime conservative rating through 2008.
As a young senator, Joe Biden was consistently ranked as one of the Senate’s least wealthy members. He said this was due to his young age at the election. During his first term, he proposed campaign finance reform measures, fearing that less-wealthy public officials would be tempted to accept contributions in exchange for political favors. Biden had a net worth of $27,012 as of November 2009, according to Forbes. They were worth $9 million by 2020, thanks in large part to the sales of Biden’s books and speaking fees after his vice presidency.
The late Vice President Joe Biden has been praised for his empathetic nature and ability to communicate about grief in recent years, especially after his son Beau died in 2015. He has a long history of being asked to give eulogies, according to CNN and the New York Times.
He maintained an upbeat tone throughout, despite the seriousness of the subject matters he came across such as the current issue COVID-19 Pandemic. He urged Americans to unite and lift each other up.
